Today marks the anniversary of the crash of American Airlines Flight 587 in Belle Harbor.

The crash killed 265 people on Nov. 12, 2001, just over two months after the Sept. 11 attacks. Following the crash, many worried it was another terrorist attack.

The crash is the second-worst aviation accident in United States history.

Officials blame pilot error for the crash.
