Congestion pricing advocates and opponents were squaring off Sunday at an event in Manhattan.

A group of lawmakers had gathered for a press conference to speak out against a plan by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio to implement congestion pricing. The group was led by Assemblyman David Weprin, of Queens.

But supporters of congestion pricing and riders advocates showed up at the press conference. The lawmakers were being shouted down by those who argue that congestion pricing is necessary to fix the city's transit system.

It comes ahead of the April 1 state budget deadline.  A proposal for Manhattan congestion pricing to fund the city's ailing transit system is still alive in the negotiations.
