JULIA - In the southern Caribbean Sea, Potential Tropical Cyclone THIRTEEN strengthened into Tropical Storm JULIA earlier today. It will continuing moving westward, through the Caribbean Sea, strengthening into a hurricane, before making a landfall in Nicaragua by Sunday. It is no threat to the Northeast.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Addison Green says Saturday will be cold and Sunday will be cool.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with isolated showers that will fade by daybreak and a chill settles in. Lows: upper 40s.
SATURDAY: A chilly start to the day will be around, with temps running nearly 10-15 degrees below average. Expect some breezy winds & mostly sunny skies for the afternoon hours. Highs: mid to upper 50s. Lows: low to mid 40s.
SUNDAY: The morning hours will still be rather cold, but temps will move on up close to seasonal levels for the afternoon hours. There will be mostly sunny skies with a light wind from time to time. Get outside and enjoy! Highs: mid 60s. Lows: upper 40s.
NEXT WEEK: Mostly a dry stretch of weather will be around Long Island; with temps either at or above normal levels for this time of the year. Enjoy the warmth and sun while you can, for a front passes by Thursday evening, dropping the temps for Friday & into next weekend. As the front approaches, the rain chances will increase through the day on Thursday and taper off through Friday morning.
