About a dozen people in Suffolk started off their Labor Day holiday weekend in handcuffs.

Eleven people were arrested for drinking and driving overnight at a sobriety checkpoint in Port Jefferson Station.

Police say close to 1,000 cars went through the stop on Route 112.

Three other people were arrested at a DWI checkpoint in East Northport.
