Suffolk police are rolling out another line of defense to keep children safe as they return to schools.
The "Text-A-Tip" system gives people the ability to text in information to the police about any impending threat to any school across Suffolk.
Both Nassau and Suffolk police have also implemented the "Rave" app, which allows schools to immediately alert police of a shooting situation.
