The Suffolk County high school lacrosse season begins next week and COVID-19 tests are no longer mandatory to play.
County Executive Steve Bellone says testing is no longer needed.
Brandon Kessler underwent weekly testing on the Hills East football team. He says was it even more stressful than the game itself.
Many schools in Suffolk hired outside companies to do their testing, so the new guidance is a relief financially.
The new season begins next Monday.
