Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney announced the arrest of two people who he says stole over a million dollars of cash and possessions in a targeted burglary on the East End and in Manhattan.
The suspects, Raymond Bouderau and Jacqueline Jewett, allegedly conspired to gather criminal intelligence about a wealthy victim.
They are accused of stealing from the person's Manhattan and Sag Harbor homes.
Tierney says Jewett's ex-lover was dating the victim, enabling Jewett to secretly access information regarding the victim's residences and some of her possessions.
Jewett allegedly accessed her ex's iCloud to gather information on the victim as part of the scheme.
The unidentified victim was a collector of fine goods such as jewelry, artwork, rugs, wine and firearms.
The district attorney says Jewett and Bouderau knew when the victim would be away based on the data from the iCloud and burglarized the Sag Harbor home on Sept. 25.
Electric to the home was cut, breakers were off, the basement window was broken into, and multiple safes were compromised, according to the Sag Harbor police who worked with the district attorney and state police to track down the suspects.
"It is a great example of how law enforcement working together to bring an end to a successful investigation," Tierney said.
Bouderau and Jewett were arraigned.
Bouderau was held without bail, and Jewett's bail was set at $200,000 cash or $400,000 bond.
Both burglaries from Manhattan and on the East End are being charged in Suffolk County.
The district attorney says he believes Bouderau is going to be charged with additional burglaries in Manhattan not related to the case.
While many of the possessions have been found, there are still some missing items.
