A Great Neck doctor convicted of running an oxycodone pill mill out of her office has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Prosecutors say Roya Jafari-Hassad, 56, made hundreds of thousands of dollars selling prescriptions to patients under the table from Jan. 2019 to May 2022.

She also fraudulently billed insurance providers for procedures that were never performed, according to authorities.

Over the course of nine months in the investigation, investigators say she sold prescriptions to an undercover detective on ten different occasions.

In addition to her prison sentence, the judge also imposed a fine of $150,000 and ordered her to pay $152,765 in restitution.
