News 12's Rich Barrabi discusses the status of the Suffolk County police commissioner search with Suffolk County Executive-elect Ed Romaine.

"I haven't heard from potential candidates but I'm hearing from others who have suggested a whole list of names. I'm looking at that," said Romaine. "There are several things you can do. You can appoint a blue-ribbon panel and we could look at several of the names that have been suggested to me. Or I could just have a group interview with these people and then I make a decision. It depends on the time frame. And obviously I don't want to leave the police department without leadership. I don't want to have an acting commissioner for some time. I want to have a commissioner that is on the job, and doing on the job, and accountable."

The full interview with Romaine airs Sunday on Power & Politics at 11:30 a.m.
