Wearable tech is apparently changing the way diseases are detected.
A new study finds that the Apple Watch can detect diabetes with 85 percent accuracy.
The health app “Cardiogram” and the University of California in San Francisco say sensors in the watch can pick up irregularities in heart rate.
The Cardiogram app also found the Apple Watch detected hypertension and sleep apnea.
The study used data from 14,000 Apple Watch users. It was able to detect that 462 of them had diabetes by using the device’s heart rate sensor.
