The state has dropped Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal to build a tunnel or bridge across the Long Island Sound.
News 12 has reported that the governor commissioned a study to see if the plan was feasible.
Residents along the North Shore say a bridge or tunnel would damage the environment and destroy their quality of life.
The state Department of Transportation says after a careful review, it decided not to move forward with the proposal "at this time.”
