The second annual Winter Lantern Festival on the grounds of the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn is now open to the public.
The Chinese-influenced lanterns this year have a space theme for cars to drive through.
Some of the lanterns move and all were handmade by artisans with decades of experience.
"It was so beautiful. The lights are so well done. Several artistic ways of displaying them. We've been to several light shows and this tops the cake," said Roslyn resident Sharon Oken.
The festival runs Thursday through Sunday.
While the one in Roslyn is a drive-through experience, there is another at the Smithtown Historical Society in Smithtown, which is a walk-through experience.
