One year after Tropical Storm Irene hit Long Island, some residents are still fighting to get aid needed to rebuild.
Tom Longhway, of Seaford, says he has been fighting with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and his insurance company to pay for the damage caused by more than two feet of flooding in his home.
"We're fighting with FEMA, we're fighting with the insurance company, and it's like fighting a losing battle," says Longhway. "They want to give us like half what we need to do our house."
In Patchogue, officials say that it took a year for FEMA to finally approve funding to reconstruct Mascot's Dock, a 1,000-foot dock that was destroyed by the storm.
