Smithtown parents rallied once again Friday night as the start of the school year nears.
It was the third time dozens of parents in the Smithtown Central School District have called on school officials to give their kids an option to return to school five days a week.
"We have Commack doing it. We have Hauppauge doing it, they've been doing it for a while. They figured out plans and our district is repeatedly telling us hybrid is our only way," says Stacy Murphy. "That we -- we meaning the administration and the board -- think it's best for the kids and they will not listen."
Murphy says keeping the kids out of the classroom will cause them to continue to fall behind in their education, as well as put additional, unnecessary stress on families.
