Two sisters are continuing to help break the stigma of mental health over a decade after their father committed suicide.

Brooke and Jaimie DiPalma started P.S. I Love You Day in 2010. The day falls on the second Friday of every February.

On Wednesday, Babylon Town leaders and other elected officials came together to raise awareness about the need to end bullying, depression and to lead with kindness.

The entire state of New York will recognize this Friday as P.S. I Love You Day as part of a proclamation delivered during the event.

The sisters say these type of events help to ensure mental health education can become the norm.
