Officials say security was tight at Long Island shopping malls on Thursday.
According to officials, shoppers can expect to see more police officers if they head out after dinner to get an early start on holiday shopping.
Police in Nassau and Suffolk counties say there are no specific threats here, but they remain on high alert.
Police remind residents that "if they see something, say something."
