SCPD officer saves person in crisis on Robert Moses Bridge

A Suffolk County police officer is being credited for helping save a person in crisis on the Robert Moses Bridge.
Police said Marine Bureau Officer Brendan Grogan was alerted by a passing motorist to what appeared to be a disabled vehicle on the bridge.
When Grogan arrived, authorities said he discovered the driver had come to the bridge intending to take their life.
Body camera footage, released by police and edited to protect the person's identity, shows Grogan calmly speaking with the individual and reassuring them that nothing is worth harming themselves.
"I'm gonna help you," Grogan told the person. "There is always an answer."
