A man from Roslyn Heights died Tuesday morning when his own tractor-trailer rolled over him.
Officials say 72-year-old Bruce Barth was delivering dirt to a home on Moriches Avenue in East Moriches. When he hopped out, his truck started rolling.
Authorities say Barth attempted to stop the truck, but became trapped in between his tractor-trailer and a parked vehicle.
"He was conscious for part of that time," says John Roca, of East Moriches. "He was saying help me, help me."
Barth was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
Police are trying to determine what caused the truck to roll.
