A Roosevelt man is accused of a wild series of crimes that ended with two Nassau police officers injured.
Getho Brevette was arrested for a robbery at the First Baptist Church of Westbury on Saturday.
Brevette is accused of taking off his clothes outside of the church and stealing a woman’s sunglasses as she waited to cross the street.
Police say when the 27-year-old was released on Sunday, he then committed more crimes.
Brevette allegedly went to Planet Fitness in Merrick where, according to court paperwork, he was naked and causing a disturbance.
According to court paperwork, Brevette grabbed the arm and thigh of a person who was in the men’s bathroom at the gym.
When police arrived and approached him in the parking lot, Brevette apparently drove off and hit a car on Merrick Road.
He then walked back to the gym and refused to cooperate with officers, according to police. Investigators say he threw an unknown liquid at two officers, ripped off an officer’s body camera, threw it on the ground and attempted to remove the officer's weapon.
Brevette pleaded not guilty to a slew of charges, including assault in the second-degree.
He was released after his Monday arraignment with GPS ankle monitoring.
