Suffolk County officials announced Thursday that a crackdown is underway on those who fail to pay child support.

Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. and local leaders are putting some fathers who owe hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support payments on blast.

They say at least 10 fathers have active warrants out for their arrest, with some owing more than $300,000.

"We are talking about thousands of dollars that could've went to food, clothing, doctors’ appointments or school supplies for the children,” Toulon Jr. said. “Not just the children, their children."

The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to come forward.
