Police say a Roosevelt man has been arrested and is accused of assaulting two police officers who were trying to arrest him.  

The incident happened Tuesday at the Kohl's on Jericho Turnpike in Jericho.

Police were called to the store after employees said a man who stole from the store in May was back.

Officers say when they tried to stop Julius White, 35, he took off.

Once officers caught up with him and tried to arrest him, police say White put up a fight and hurt two officers – one of them was spit on.  

White is facing charges of assault, resisting arrest and grand larceny.            

 

White also had four other open warrants.
