A Brentwood park has been closed for the summer amid claims of hazardous debris dumping.
The DA's office and DEC are investigating claims of illegal dumping at Roberto Clemente Park by a contractor who was reseeding soccer fields for a nearby church.
The allegations come the same day that town officials announced the resignation of Islip Town Parks Commissioner Joseph Montuori.
Suffolk District Attorney Tom Spota says since June, 32,000 tons of debris has been dumped, including asbestos. Spota won't name the company involved, but says today's raid at Ronkonkoma's Day Tree Enterprises is related.
Town officials say that the park will be closed as the investigation continues.
