Road to Williamsport: Massapequa beats Fairfield, 7-5; one win away from regional championship

Massapequa Coast Little League withstood a sixth-inning rally from Fairfield Monday keeping their run toward a regional championship alive. 
The Long Island squad won 7-5 on the back of clutch hitting and huge plays in the outfield. 
On Saturday, they kicked off their road to the Little League World Series with a win against New Jersey in the first round of the regional tournament. Last weekend, the team captured the New York state title – the first state championship in the Massapequa Coast league's 72-year history.
