Riverhead police: Juvenile took donation box, multiple items during gas station and car wash burglary

Detectives say the juvenile from the Timothy Hill Children's Ranch broke into the business at 915 Old Country Rd. just before 3:30 a.m.

Riverhead police say a teenager was arrested after burglarizing a gas station and car wash early Sunday morning.

Detectives say the juvenile from the Timothy Hill Children's Ranch broke into the business at 915 Old Country Rd. just before 3:30 a.m.

Police told News 12 that they responded because an alarm went off.

Detectives say when the teen was apprehended, he was in possession of a donation box and with multiple items from the store.

The teen was charged with burglary, processed and released on an appearance ticket. He was not identified because he is a minor.

Riverhead police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them at 631-727-4500.
