A walkway in Spuyten Duyvil is raising safety concerns for residents, who say the uneven and unmaintained path is unsafe to walk through.
Department of Transportation sources say the pathway is private property, preventing the city from making improvements.
Assembly Member Jeffrey Dinowitz says the city should step in, regardless of who owns it.
"You don't want people falling. You can say it's not our property, but you don't want people getting hurt," says Dinowitz.
Residents say they just want a safe way to walk through their neighborhood.
