Long Island chefs host 'Flock Together' event to support laid-off Crescent Duck Farm workers

Crescent Duck Farm's owner had to lay off nearly 50 employees because there was no work. The fundraising event will support the workers.

Local chefs across Long Island came togehter at Tellers Next Door in Islip to raise funds and awareness for Crescent Duck Farm in Aquebogue.

The farm had to close its doors for now due to bird flu.

Crescent Duck Farm's owner had to lay off nearly 50 employees because there was no work. The fundraising event supported the workers.

"I knew we were very popular in the restaurant community, but I didn't realize the depth of the love they have given us," said Doug Corwin, Owner of Crescent Duck Farm. “I'm a positive person, and we can't do anything but look forward. So hopefully, sometime toward the end of the year, we will be producing ducks again.”
