The New York Islanders had an unexpected visitor during last night’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins, creating one of the most memorable moments of the season.

During the first period, forward Bo Horvat helped set up a goal while a small bird darted across the ice. Horvat, who was mic’d up for the game, could be heard telling his teammates about the surprise guest as it fluttered around the play. The lighthearted moment quickly became a fan favorite.

After the final horn, Islanders staff safely guided the bird outside, officially sending it back into the wild. But not before it earned a new nickname: “Rally Bird.”
