Pump patrol: National average for gas sits at $3.53

We are on pump patrol and keeping an eye on the rising gas prices as tensions continue overseas between Russia and Ukraine.
The national average for a gallon of regular is $3.53.
The price is a little higher in New York at $3.75 and the average is $3.73 on Long Island.
The price is up 6 cents from a week ago, and 31 cents from a month ago.
The cheapest gas in Nassau County is at the Gulf station in Farmingdale at $3.39 a gallon.
In Suffolk County, the price is little lower. Flying Arrows Gas in Mastic is still the cheapest station islandwide with $3.18 a gallon.
