A Port Jefferson man pleaded guilty Monday to killing a Selden father of three.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney says Alejandro Vargas-Diaz admitted to shooting Albert Rodriguez-Lopez in 2018. It happened following a fight between the two men at a pool hall, according to court documents.
Prosecutors say Vargas-Diaz then fled the state. He was arrested in Florida three years later and extradited back to New York.
Vargas-Diaz is expected to be sentenced to 23 years to life in prison.
He will face a judge in September.
