Nassau police arrest eight people for prostitution, illegal massages

A 73-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in New Hyde Park, police say.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. Thursday as the woman was crossing Union Turnpike near Lakeville Road. Police say the driver then drove off.

Police say the suspect vehicle is gray and may have been a Mercedes.

They say the victim suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
