A Bohemia widow is suing the NYPD, alleging the department contributed to her husband's suicide by making him the scapegoat for a fatal Taser incident last year.
Susan Pigott says the department abandoned her husband, Lt. Michael Pigott, leaving him to shoulder the blame for the death of Iman Morales.
The deceased officer gave the order last October to Taser the bipolar Morales, who was standing naked on a first-story ledge and threatening officers with an 8-foot fluorescent bulb. Morales fell 10 feet to his death after being Tasered.
Pigott shot himself days after he was stripped of his gun and badge over accusations he mishandled the situation. The possibility of criminal action also loomed.
"They just threw him under the bus," says Susan Pigott.
