Police: Suspect wanted for robbing Stop & Shop in East Meadow

Officers were told that the suspect tried to leave the store with about $360 worth of items and hit a worker with a shopping cart when they attempted to stop her.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who robbed an East Meadow Stop & Shop on Tuesday and attacked an employee who tried to intervene.
Detectives say officers responded to 2525 Hempstead Turnpike at around 7:30 p.m. after receiving a call about a larceny in progress.
Officers were told that the suspect tried to leave the store with about $360 worth of items and hit a worker with a shopping cart when they attempted to stop her.
The suspect then left the scene in a white SUV, according to authorities. No injuries were reported.
