A crash in Copiague has left a trail of destruction along Montauk Highway.
A pickup truck was involved in the crash, with significant damage to its front end and a broken windshield.
Debris was scattered across the roadway, while several lamp poles and a utility pole were also knocked down. PSEG crews were at the scene assessing the damage.
Part of Montauk Highway was closed between Hawkins Avenue and Howard Boulevard.
Michael Licata, who was nearby when the crash happened, said he heard a loud boom before seeing the aftermath.
“I was in the back of the building over there and all I heard was a big boom,” Licata said. “Then I came out front and saw this big mess over here with these poles and lights missing, and everything else.”
Police have not yet said what caused the crash or whether anyone was injured.
