A 26-year-old Selden man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Holbrook early Tuesday morning.

Suffolk County police said Matthew Schneider was driving eastbound on Express Drive South when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

A passing motorist called 911 at about 5:30 a.m., although investigators say the crash occurred around 3 a.m.

Schneider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety inspection.
