The NYPD revealed Tuesday the suspect of a fatal Brooklyn shooting in October is the victim's mother.
Police say shots were fired outside of 1770 Pacific St. on Oct. 12 in Brooklyn, and a 28-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the side of his head. Authorities identified the victim as Christopher Jenkins, of Brooklyn. He was pronounced dead Oct. 24, and investigators deemed the case a homicide.
The NYPD arrested and charged Vanessa Jenkins, 44, in connection to the incident on Oct. 13. Police say she is the victim's mother. Jenkins is being charged with attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.
It's unclear what the motive is behind the shooting. Upgraded charges are pending.
