The man accused in a wrong-way DWI crash that killed two Roslyn teens pleaded guilty in court this morning.
Singh pleaded guilty to 10 charges, including the top count of aggravated vehicular homicide. Singh previously pleaded not guilty to all charges. Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly said he will face 8 ⅓ to 25 years in prison.
"This is a remarkable top count plea with a commitment from the judge of the maximum allowed sentence,” she said. “Nothing short of the maximum prison sentence for the top count charge will be enough to hold this defendant accountable for the devastation that he caused.”
Family and friends of Singh and the victims were in court on Friday.
Family members of the victims tell News 12 they wished Singh would have expressed some remorse for his actions that caused the crash.
Singh’s attorney, James Kousouros, says he has.
"Mr. Singh has been painted out as somebody without remorse and that is the furthest thing from the truth,” he said.
Singh will be sentenced on Feb. 7.
