Police: Suffolk man accused of stashing fireworks and weapons in Smithtown home

Authorities say 52-year-old Christopher Giancola is accused of stowing the materials at a residence on Pia Boulevard.

A Suffolk County man is facing multiple charges for stashing fireworks and weapons inside a home in Smithtown, police say.

Authorities say 52-year-old Christopher Giancola is accused of stowing the materials at a residence on Pia Boulevard.

Suffolk police say they executed a search warrant at the home on Thursday. They uncovered two assault rifles, two handguns and several high-capacity weapons parts.

They say 15 boxes of fireworks and other firework materials were also found.
