Police: St. James resident in custody for stabbing of man in Port Jefferson

According to police, two men got into an argument that became physical at around 2 a.m. near Arden Place.

Suffolk County police have arrested 32-year-old Nicholas Thornton of St. James in connection with a stabbing early Sunday morning in Port Jefferson. 
According to police, two men got into an argument that became physical at around 2 a.m. near Arden Place. They say that’s when Thornton stabbed a 20-year-old victim in the arm. 
The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released. 
Thornton is scheduled to face a judge today for assault in the second degree.
