Police: Sex offender from Deer Park arrested for impersonating social services employee, abusing victim at shelter

Police say a level 3 sex offender from Deer Park was arrested for impersonating a social services employee and sexually abusing a disabled victim at a shelter.
Alfred Balcerak impersonated a social services employee to gain entry to the shelter last week, according to authorities.
Police say the 65-year-old allegedly made sexual contact with the victim and stole some of their personal items.
Balcerak is charged with forcible touching, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person, false personation and petit larceny.
Prosecutors say Balcerak has several prior convictions, some of which include sexual abuse against children.
He is due back in court on Sept. 19.
