Police say a security guard at the Sunrise Multiplex in Valley Stream stabbed a teen moviegoer Sunday after the boy asked to wait indoors for his ride.
According to authorities, a group of teenagers saw the movie ?My Bloody Valentine? and then asked to wait inside for their ride because it was cold outside. Police say Ricardo Singh, the security guard at the multiplex, confronted the alleged victim and his friends and told them to wait outside. Detectives say the 16-year-old and Singh began pushing each other and Singh pulled out a 6-inch knife and stabbed the teen in the upper abdomen, near his aorta and vital chest organs.
Police say Singh pleaded not guilty to a felony assault charge Monday. He is due back in court Wednesday.
According to authorities, Singh is employed by Security Enforcement Bureau, which is a private company used by the movie theater. No one from the movie theater or security company would answer questions.
The teen is expected to recover from his injuries.
