Police: Sag Harbor man arrested for driving under influence of drugs

A Sag Harbor man was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

A Sag Harbor man was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police say Melvin David Palacios-Lainez crashed his car on Tuckahoe Road around 1 p.m. Saturday and then drove off.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Palacios-Lainez was found later and is now facing charges.
Riverhead police are also targeting driver using their cellphone behind the wheel for National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says cellphone use is the most frequent form of distraction.
