Police pursuit prompts lockout at some Glen Cove, Glen Head schools

News 12 Long Island has learned some schools in
Glen Cove and Glen Head were in lockout Tuesday morning following an incident that
occurred near North Shore Middle School.
Nassau police say they were attempting to make
a car stop in the area of High Farms Road in Glen Head.
The pursuit ended near the North Shore Middle
School in Glen Head and the suspect ran on foot.
According to officials, word got out to some
schools in Glen Cove, and that is when the schools went
into lockdown.
Police say the suspect is wanted for a possible
burglary.
