Police provide extra security at Commack HS following anonymous threats sent to district

Commack School District officials notified Suffolk County police on Sept. 11 regarding a potential threat at Commack High School for today.
An investigation determined there was no credible threat.
The high school opened on a regular schedule today.
Out of an abundance of caution, police were at the school Monday and were performing periodic checks throughout the day.
There was also an enhanced district security personnel assigned to the high school.
Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are continuing the investigation.
