A 73-year-old woman died after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Huntington home on Thursday, according to Suffolk County police.
Police said a 911 caller reported that their family member, identified as Marcia Amarando, was unresponsive in the pool at a residence on Rodsfield Court.
A family member pulled Amarando, who lived at the home, from the water before first responders arrived.
Officers and members of the Commack Fire Department Ambulance crew performed CPR in an effort to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the death does not appear to be criminal in nature.
