Police say a nurse practitioner has been arrested for sexually abusing a patient in West Hempstead.

Detectives say Paul Igbide, 52, of East Meadow, was treating a 19-year-old female patient while working as a nurse practitioner at West Hempstead Medical.

According to police, Igbide had inappropriate contact with the female victim on multiple occasions dating back to November 2023, according to police.

A family member reported the incidents to Nassau County police.

Igbide is charged with sexual abuse and two counts of sexual misconduct.

Detectives request that anyone who feels they may have also been a victim by the defendant to contact Nassau County Special Victims Squad at 516-573-4022 or dial 911.
