Police have released a sketch of the man they say robbed a North Merrick woman in her driveway Wednesday night.
Madeline Brown says the armed man approached her just feet from her front door before 9 p.m. The man put his arm around her neck, poked her with the gun, and ordered her into the house, according to Brown, 59.
Brown says the man ordered her to remove her rings and ripped her shirt off. She started screaming and her husband Joseph came out from the back of the house.
?He got up, looked at me, pointed his gun at me and just backed off and shot out the door like a bat,? Joseph Brown says.
Police say the man may be responsible for at least two nearby robberies in which rings were also stolen. "Obviously this is a dangerous person,? Nassau Detective Sgt. Anthony Repalone says. ?He's armed with a handgun. He's not afraid to confront somebody in their home."
