A North Amityville man is accused in a hit-and-run that killed a man on a busy road in Farmingdale.
Police say 22-year-old Hugo Cuadra struck Mastic resident Hector Rodriguez along Route 110 on Tuesday.
Those who live and work on the industrial stretch of the roadway say it is both busy and dangerous.
"It is not safe, the crossing takes forever to make," says Josh Schemanski. "I see a lot of people just making the crossing without waiting for the light."
Cuadra was arraigned in Central Islip Wednesday. He is facing a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
