Newburgh man charged after alleged assault of 2-year-old girl

Police say a man was found dead in Hempstead on Monday.

According to police, they received a call about a man not breathing on Maryland Avenue.

Police say when they arrived they found a 61-year-old in a bedroom with what is being described as blunt force trauma to his head.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name is not being released.
