Police say a man was arrested for driving drunk after he crashed his car into two businesses in Amityville early Saturday morning
They say Jeffrey White, of Central Islip, was driving drunk and caused a crash that sent two cars into the businesses on Park Avenue around 3:30 a.m.
Three people suffered minor injuries.
White appeared before a judge later Saturday and pleaded not guilty.
Officers say the two-car accident destroyed Bella Maison and the Amityville Men's Shop.
When the business owners showed up early Saturday morning, they said they were upset at the condition of their stores but relieved no one was inside when the cars barreled into the building.
Mary D'Andrea, owner of Bella Maison, said she is worried she will lose business because it will have to be boarded up and the electricity will be shut off for a few days.
The Amityville Men's Shop is a family-owned tuxedo shop that has been in the town for decades.
The owner said while the accident will affect business, they assure that all customers will still have their suits ready in time for any upcoming weddings.
