An 18-year-old was arrested after Suffolk police say he stabbed and killed a man in East Northport early Sunday morning.

Detectives say they received a 911 call around 3:45 a.m. When they arrived at Catherine Street, they found 61-year-old Joseph Falvo had been stabbed several times in the living room of a trailer parked in the driveway.

Falvo was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the victim was engaged to the suspect's grandmother. The heartbroken woman says she just got engaged to the victim last month.

“We loved each other,” said Cecilia Bermudez, the victim’s fiancé. “He do everything for me. I have nothing bad to say about him. He only do good to me. And now I feel like I’m lost. I lost the other half of my heart right now.”

Police say they arrested Noel Bermudez-Chin, Cecilia’s grandson, down the road shortly after the incident.

Falvo and Cecilia Bermudez both lived in a trailer on the property after their house burned down in December. Police say Noel Bermudez-Chin lived on the property as well.

Bermudez-Chin was charged with second degree murder and will be arraigned on Monday at the Central Islip Courthouse.
